Termite collars at slab stage in Oran Park NSW
Every pipe that passes through a slab leaves a gap around it, and that gap is a concealed route from the soil into the building. A termite collar closes it. Under AS 3660 it forms part of the termite management system for the house, and it has to be in place before the concrete goes down, because afterwards the penetration is sealed permanently around whatever is or is not there. We have recorded collars simply not installed on Oran Park pours, on separate penetrations, which is why they are now the first thing we look for at pre-pour here.
