What AS 3660 actually asks for
A system, not a single product.
In short: How termite management on a new NSW house is meant to fit together.
The standard
AS 3660 covers termite management for buildings, and it describes a system rather than a single measure.
The parts
Collars at slab penetrations, perimeter treatment, and inspection zones that stay visible so activity can be found.
Where it goes wrong
Any one part left out. We have recorded collars missing at pre-pour, and on finished houses the inspection zone is regularly lost to landscaping.
The durable notice
A record fixed in the building stating what system was installed and when. Worth locating and keeping.
What owners control
The inspection zone and the moisture. Both are maintenance rather than construction.
